A Message On Community By Our CEO

Anyone can open a shop. Anyone can buy some weed, put it in a nice jar on a shelf, sell it, and call this operation a dispensary, and they won’t be wrong. It’s really not complicated. But that’s not what makes an industry. That’s not what changes decades of negative perception.

What I’ve learned over the past few years is simple: cannabis is built on community, or it’s built on nothing.

Community is the difference between a transaction and a relationship. It’s the conversations that happen between customers and budtenders. It’s the trust people feel when they walk into your space and know they’ll be respected, educated, and safe. It’s when competitors are willing to sit at the same table sharing their woes as much as their wins because we all know this industry will only survive if we grow together.

When I first started Siam Green, I saw too much of the opposite. Turf wars. Ego. People guarding their corner instead of thinking about the bigger picture. And I remember thinking — this is way too early for this type of behavior.  3 years into legalization, and it’s clear that the majority of those who were able to make it through avoid this kind of mind set and come from more of an abundance mindset.

That’s why alongside Siam Green, I started the Thai Cannabis Network. To create a place where people who are serious about the industry could collaborate, share knowledge, and support each other. Because if we don’t build a solid foundation for the industry first, the battles we fight later won’t matter — the ground will collapse underneath us. It started off just as a small group of like minded business people in the industry, but the need for a community like this became very clear when we quickly grew to over 500 members, active daily, building friendships, business agreements, sales, and more. We began hosting events for people to meet in person, providing a platform for members to share inputs, ideas, news, both good and bad, and these barriers between people and companies that were once strong as concrete, crumbled into dust, and we saw handshakes all around.

At Siam Green, and through TCN, I’ve seen what happens when community comes first:

  • Standards rise.
  • Stigma fades.
  • The industry becomes stronger, more professional, and more respected.

That’s why I spend as much time building networks, meeting people, having conversations, and trust as I do building stores. Because this is much bigger than retail, farming, or product development. This is about shaping how Thailand — and the world — experiences all of the good that this plant has to offer. For me, cannabis isn’t just a product. It’s history, responsibility, and opportunity.

Visit any one of our stores and you will immediately feel that we are part of something bigger than just a store offering high quality products. Talk to our staff and you’ll feel how confident they feel about being in this industry, because they too have missions within the overarching mission of growth. Walk in and feel comfortable that when you make a purchase you’re not just supporting a local business, but an entire industry that is no stranger to uphill battles!  Walk out with a smile on your face because as a customer, you’re automatically at the very end of the supply chain, making you the most important member of the community!
